Ted is a silly goof, loves to play, and is 100% puppy, he is 6-7 months old!  He gets along with all 4 of his foster siblings & doesn't pay much attention to the cats.  He is easy going and is a good watch dog.  He will bark if anyone comes to the door and isn't the type to run up and greet you as he is very cautious and will keep his distance initially from newcomers.  Ted seems to warm up to women and kids faster than men.  He's crated at night, sleeps through the night and doesn't make a peep until it starts to get light.  After his potty break he curls up next to his foster dad on the reclining loveseat.   He is good on a leash and potty trained with a doggie door.  He will be a pretty good-sized dog and his foster mom loves the sound he makes when he walks, he 'pads' like a lion!  He'll need a little help knowing what is his to chew on and what is not, typical puppy!  He needs a med-large playful adult dog in the home to remind him of his boundaries as he is still a floppy puppy and has a tendency to step on the other pets in the home.   His new pyrents will need a soft touch, gentle voice and patience to wait for him to come out of his shell.  When he does, he will follow them wherever they go! Ted is currently being fostered in Florence, OR.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:

1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.

2) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day.

4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience.

5) Secure and visible fencing required.

6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly.
