My name is Xena. I am a beautiful dog, if I may say so myself. Complete strangers have stopped my people on the street to ask what kind of dog I am. I might be a Spitz and Great Pyrenees mix, but no one knows for sure. I must have lived in a house before because I have excellent house manners and I understand how things in a house work. When I got here, I knew without anyone telling me that the dog bed, the human bed, and couch are the softest places to nap. I don't chew on things. I don't potty where I shouldn't. I sit politely for pets and treats. I am pretty smart and could probably do lots of things if you teach me how.

I don't bark much when people are home. I don't like when my people all leave. Then I bark, and bark, and bark some more. My foster people are working with me on this. I am smart. I will figure this out if my new family keeps working on it. I hope they do, because even people who are home a lot might need to leave some time and I should know how to handle myself when that happens. I am living with a cat in my foster home and we tolerate each other just fine.  I would like to be an only dog or live with a laid back dog who isn't looking for a playmate. I am not a pest about demanding attention, but if there is attention being given out, I think I should get all of it and not have to share! I can also get a little bossy with other dogs.

 I love walk time! I can walk pretty far for a small girl. I have taken mile and a half walks and I'm sure I could go farther if my people weren't checking me out and making sure I didn't get tired. I am small but also big enough no one wants to carry me home. Sometimes I have really good leash skills and other times, I do a lot of pulling. I have made big improvements on my leash skills and I know I will be an excellent walking dog with some more work. When I take a walk, I like to walk like I have somewhere to go. Sometimes I dilly dally to sniff things or try to chase cats, but mostly I like to walk at a pretty good pace. I am as confident as I am beautiful. New things are interesting, and not scary.  I recently went to an office and met new people. I enjoyed that. I also went to the dog food store. Nothing in the store made me jump or get nervous, but a lot of things made my nose twitch and sniff. And that is me. Xena. A beautiful dog on the outside and a good girl inside. With some good groceries and a chance to learn a few things, I will be gorgeous on the outside and a most excellent girl inside.  Xena is currently being fostered in Portland, OR.

All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. 

Adoption Fee: $350

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.

Transport Fee: $300

Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport.
