Hello! I’m Iggy, a one-year-old Anatolian mix. I think I’m just a regular guy, but people say I’m a hero, because one day while I was in the shelter a pregnant dog came in and needed an emergency blood transfusion, and fast! The doctor grabbed me, stuck a needle in my neck, and transfused enough blood so that the mama dog not only lived, but gave birth to healthy pups! The shelter staff was shocked that I didn’t flinch, need to be sedated, or even held in place—I just chilled while I did my duty to help my fellow canine. The shelter staff says that’s when they knew I was special, and since then they made sure I always got some extra time in the play yard and that my baby pool was always full of cool water. I love people SO MUCH, and I get along with every dog I’ve ever met. Cats are cool; I don’t mind them at all. I even kissed a horse on the lips, no big deal. I love food, and currently hold the Texas record for fastest swallowing of a cheeseburger. I may look skinny, but I’m already 90 lbs, most of which is my giant noggin! I’m going to fill out a bunch—good thing I walk so nicely on a leash.  My foster Mom thinks I would do really well in training and that I might need it before being around small children.  I’m also excellent in the car, so feel free to take me on adventures! I’m so excited to meet my forever family… will it be you? Iggy is currently in Texas but can be on the next NW transport!
